American Motorcycle producer Cleveland CycleWerks is good to go to enter the Indian market at the 2018 Auto Expo in February. Overdrive reports that Cleveland CycleWerks will launch two new motorcycles, Cleveland Ace and Cleveland Misfit in the nation. Both the models will highlight the classic retro design.
Both the Cleveland Ace and Cleveland Misfit are sub-250cc bikes; the organization intends to value the bikes aggressively as they will be produced in India. The American brand has set up its office in Mumbai and Hyderabad in a JV with Laish-Madison Motorwerks Private Limited. Cleveland CycleWerks will manufacture both the bikes at its Pune manufacturing unit. The Cleveland Ace is a retro-styled commuter with scrambler styling, though the Cleveland Misfit is a cafe racer. The new models are required to zest up the retro-classic section in India.
The Cleveland Ace highlights a basic and exquisite design which is supplemented by the scrambler look. The bike draws control from a 229.5cc air-cooled, single barrel engine delivering 14.30bhp and 16.5Nm of torque. The power figures are of the global model, and the subtle elements of India-spec model aren’t yet available. The Cleveland Misfit includes a cafe racer design. Controlling the bike from a 223cc air-cooled, single barrel with the overhead cam (OHC) and counter-balancer. The engine is good for 16.07bhp and 18Nm of torque.
The Cleveland Misfit is furnished with gold-finish topsy-turvy forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. The bike additionally gets disc brakes at both the ends and twin-pod instrument cluster. The kerb weight of the bike remains at 144kg. CCW claims that the Ace is a perfect commuter bike and it is most appropriate for urban conditions. The organization additionally offers the Ace Deluxe with scrambler design, and it gets aluminum wheels, topsy-turvy forks, wide handlebars, flat seat and dual-purpose tires.
